“I Would NEVER Leave” — 100th Article Special

We passed a hundred posts a few months ago. This one sat in drafts long enough — a Saturday date, a flat window, and why I would never leave.

We actually passed the 100th article/blog post mark a few months ago but I have had this one sitting in drafts for a while so it must fly!

A hundred posts — and even 50,000 views — is quite the achievement but I always knew I would post 100 times and in fact, I have well over 100 stories I could still post right now.

Enough gloating

The first time we met, I didn’t even recognize your face. You looked a lot different to the posts you sent me over message. Not catfished but pleasantly surprised.

It was a sunny and moderately cool Saturday afternoon. You decided that going to a daytime bar would be your speed followed by my choice of thrifting at few market stalls and second-hand stores nearby. It was a date made in the stars of a modern day coffee shop. a date made in the stars of a modern day coffee shop

We got off to a rough start. I forgot to give you a clear arrival time, so you spent hours dithering over what to wear. I finally left the house around 2 PM — the exact time we were both supposed to arrive.

My heart was on ice due to the delay but deep down, I knew there was no real threat of cancellation. When I eventually saw you at the station, you told me I looked great only to instantly follow it up with sharp critique at my choice of trouser.

The rest is history.

We started like awkward lovers. You initially would forget I existed momentarily as you pondered out our flat window before rapidly switching your gaze back to me. I quite frankly liked when your attention was not on me.

Meal time is always fun. I can never pick what we should eat but you always have something in mind. You’re not quite as creative with your meal ideas as I am but I appreciate you filling in the gaps.

You sit right next to me as I work, playfully twisting my hair as I trudge along with my duties. You keep me focused and grounded whilst telling me to ‘relax’ when it gets too much for me. When I get bored, I turn to you with a plain face and you give me the same. You offer suggestions to get away. Somewhere far way. I can’t listen to you all the time! the quiet company that sits beside the work

You watch me play sports only coming to offer miniscule utterances of support when the game is over. I appreciate that you don’t bombard me with your concerns during it.

When I put my book or laptop down for the night, you immediately jump in my lap ready to tell me stories about your day as well as your ramblings. I tend to forget you had a day of your own!

When it’s all said and done, though, I would never leave. Not because it’s a romance, but because there is nowhere else to go. staying because there is nowhere else to go
